Here is a quick lesson to use for a warm up prior to sitting down at your kit...
Simply using four rudiments; singles, doubles, paradiddles, and doubleparadiddles. You start with one measure of singles, one measure of doubles, one measure of paradiddles and one measure doublepradiddles and paradiddles.Follow the sticking below....
RLRL, RRLL, RLRR LRLL, RLRLRR LRLRLL RLRR back to top alternating your sticking....if you notice, at the end of the phrase your sticking will switch from a right hand lead to a left hand lead. This warmup was shown to me by my friend and teacher Tom Knight...I have used it for many years as it is a great way to loosen my hands up before a show.
